Ikigaï Bonsaï: more than twenty years of passion

The story of Ikigaï Bonsaï began in 2004, when its founder discovered Japanese bonsai through Bruno Mazza. He then attended classes at his “bonsaïdo” school, first in Limoges and later in Mazaugues, in the Var region. Through him, he also joined the Nippon Bonsai Sakka Kyookai Europe.

This introduction marked the beginning of an ongoing learning journey. Workshops with Japanese and Western instructors, training with instructors from the Fédération Française de Bonsaï, and visits to nurseries in Japan: these encounters and experiences have continually enriched his practice. Today, he continues his training with Master Takuya Suzuki and Master Yuji Akanuma at Académie Bonsaï.

Throughout these years, he cultivated his trees as an enthusiast and took part in several exhibitions. After thirty years in education, he decided to turn his passion into his profession. The website was launched in 2018, followed by the creation of Ikigaï Bonsaï in 2022 after a long period of preparation.
