Fred Malet has been passionate about bonsai since 1994. From his beginnings as a self-taught enthusiast, he has never stopped perfecting his knowledge and sharing his love for this art. In 2011, he founded a club in the town of Tampon, where, for seven years, he shared his knowledge as a trainer certified by the French Federation of Bonsai. His training continued alongside great names in bonsai such as Gilles Vuillaume, Ruud Halink, and Bruno Heller. Today, he presides over the association Bonsaïka la Rényon, an initiative that reflects his dedication and desire to share the culture of bonsai with enthusiasts on the island.
FLM BONSAÏ: A Reference on the Island of La Réunion
Since 2020, Fred Malet has been leading FLM BONSAÏ, a company he created to fully live his passion and offer his services to local and beyond bonsai enthusiasts. FLM BONSAÏ offers workshops, personalized support, diagnostics and advice, collection maintenance at home, as well as the sale of tools, accessories, and bonsai. In 2020, Fred also wrote and published a book entitled "Le Ficus en Bonsaï", in which he shares his extensive knowledge of this fascinating tropical species.
